关于Purpose of Scotland Brochs的建造目的的争议
阅读文章 three hypotheses
1.Defense due to thick and high walls. People in village hide inside of Brochs wait forinvaders to leave;
2.Food storage due to increase in production of grains after Brochs were built;
3.Homes of chiefs and leaders of tribes due to resemblance
with castle and veryimpressive and elaborately constructed.

Defense structures usually have window for shooting arrows against perpetrators, repel attackers from getting closer. Brochs have no windows;
2.Brochs have water tanks.leakage of moisture would cause
crops and seeds stored in Brochs to rot;
3. Leaders suppose to be near their people. While Brochs are totally isolated far fromvillages. People do not need many
leaders live near to each other while Brochs built in
cluster.
